Bow Harp

Six-string folk harp from East Africa. Similar to the Ugandan adungu and the Mauritanian ngombi. The 9" long boat-shaped soundbox is carved out of solid wood. The strings are stretched between wooden pegs on a curved wooden neck and a metal sheet soundboard. N.B. The name refers to the instrument's bow-like form. It is not played with a bow.
