About Mouse Music

You will find Mouse Music, the latest addition to the Llanidloes shopping experience, behind the front door of a lovingly restored 16th century terraced house. Traditional materials and methods have been used in the restoration and this reflects the ethos of Mouse Music: to rediscover ancient knowledge and find ways to apply it in modern times, with harmonious results.

So why the mouse?

The ancient form of Welsh song, cerdd dant (lit. tooth music in modern Welsh), might have something to do with it. So might the recent discovery that mice sing – and not just in Bagpuss's world. Or it might just have a nice ring to it…
